Swami Adiswarananda was invited to
give the Invocation at the Commencement in which former U.S.
President William Clinton was Keynote Speaker. Following an
impressive and colorful procession of the distinguished faculty,
guest speakers, and students, Swami Adiswarananda opened the
Commencement with an inspiring and universal Vedic Prayer for
world peace and spiritual unity. Former American President
William Jefferson Clinton gave the keynote address. The
ceremonies concluded with the presentation of degrees to the
graduating class of 400 honor students. Over 1,000 attended the
event in the historic Great Hall of the Cooper Union, a hall
noted for the many U.S. Presidents who spoke there, including
President Abraham Lincoln, who gave one of his most notable
addresses in the Great Hall.
