“SPECIAL RECEPTION AND SERVICE
IN HONOR OF REVERED SWAMI PRAMEYANANDAJI ”

On May 28, 2006 a Special
Reception and Service was held in honor of Revered Swami
Prameyanandaji, a senior monk and member of the governing body
of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission of India, on the occasion of
the Swami’s first visit the Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Center of
New York. The Chapel of the Center was filled to capacity for
the event. After being introduced by Swami Adiswarananda,
Revered Swami Prameyanandaji gave an illuminating talk on the
subject, “Spiritual Life.” The program concluded with a
beautiful program of chanting and musical offerings by the Choir
of the Center. Following his visit to the Center, Revered
Swami was escorted to Thousand Island Park where he spent
several days visiting the Vivekananda Cottage, hallowed by the
memory of Swami Vivekananda who spent seven historic weeks there
in the summer of 1895.
